Healthy hair does not just happen naturally when one is an adult. Have you noticed or heard women saying “Gosh I used to have such a wonderful healthy head of shining hair and now it seems so lacklustre and dull”. I personally started to notice how my own hair had changed when looking at my daughter’s shining beautiful locks, and comparing her “Crowning Glory” to my limp, dull, dry hair full of split ends! I decided to do something about it, and learn what not to do. Simple mistakes in the way we wash or treat our hair can end up permanently damaging our hair, and absolutely ruining the look and feel of what should be one of our best features. Hair is often one of the first things people look at when they see us, and have you ever thought someone was beautiful when they had limp, lifeless, dull hair?

Hair care (or lack of it) is the main reason the quality and condition of our hair diminishes, especially as we get older. With the fast paced lifestyle we all lead these days, we tend to jump into the shower , roughly wash our hair, rub it too harshly with a towel, blow all the life out of it with a burning hot hair dryer and off we go !! So here are some tips on what NOT to do and then how to correct these easily made mistakes. Firstly, apart from how we physically handle our head of hair, many outside influences can have a profound effect on the health of our hair. Heat and direct exposure to the sun can damage the hair’s follicles and create a build up of oils causing the hair to look “greasy” – wear a hat when the temperatures begin to soar. The coldness of winter is even more damaging to your hair, causing it to look dry and brittle, so try and wrap it in a warm woollen hat to protect it from the harsh elements.

Hair brushing when wet will cause breakage, we must remember that our hair is fragile and needs looking after. Over 25 million women in the U.S.A alone are experiencing thinning hair. Don’t harshly try to tug and comb through tangled hair, especially when wet and warm, this will also lead to hair loss. A very traumatic thing for a woman to experience is hair loss, and many do not know it is preventable. Find out why this is happening to you. Are you going through hormonal changes, is stress a big factor in your life? These things plus certain medications can cause hair loss. Thyroid problems such as underactive thyroid, if left untreated, can cause dry brittle hair, and for your hair to fall out. See a doctor to find out if you have any underlying problems. We can all relate to the burning chemical smell of nail polish.  Usually when your senses don’t like something, they are right.  That strong smell contains toxic chemicals that can effect your reproductive system!  Look for water based products when purchasing nail-polish which will do the job just fine!  We did a search in yahoo and found this site offering water based nail polish products.

Lipstick has always been an issue with health regulators.  One should avoid petroleum based prducts, such as mineral oil ingredients, parabens and BHA!  These products effect your health along with the environment as well…

There also shampoos which are linked to certain cancers; they can also be harmful to your animals and the environment.  Be cautious of your products if they contain sodium laureth sulfate, limonene or parabens.  Watch out for methylisothiazoline (MIT) which is linked to alzheimers.  A quick search will provide you with many green friendly shampoos which you will not have to worry about your health when you use.

Cellulite loss is one of the top concerns for most women, not only in these modern times, but as far back as the fifteenth century.   It was often referred to as “female lumpiness!” What a humiliating term ! As the western diet has become more and more loaded with unhealthy fats, even so called ‘skinny’ women can have the dreadful look of orange peel thighs and buttocks and even at it’s worse – ‘cottage cheese ‘ consistency!

Losing cellulite has been something most women think is impossible to do. False advertising has led many a desperate woman to spend a fortune on remedies which promise the earth , but in fact do absolutely nothing to cure their cellulite.

Cellulite on the lower regions of a woman’s body , mainly on her upper thighs, back of her upper legs and buttocks, can sometimes start to appear as early as her teens after puberty, and as the fat cell is filled with unhealthy fats, it extends and begins to push through the skin itself which shows on the outer skin as the lumpy bumpy uneven skin that we all see on women, and I am sure you are just like me , we look at someone else’s cellulite and cringe (even though we know we have it ourselves and try and hide it !!) It seems so unfair in life that we women develop this and very few men have it at all ! (who said life was fair ?)

Curing cellulite (my own ! ) became my ambition, I had tried everything, I had tried every diet known to man (well woman in my case!) , all the current diets of the time, the grapefruit diet, the cabbage soup diet, even the well known popular million dollar selling diet books and programs I bought , thinking each time “This will not only win my battle with the bulge, but my cellulite will be gone forever !! Well dear friends I am here to tell you that not only did I find my own cure for cellulite,but I am so incredibly happy with the results that I wanted to share them with other women, as I know, first hand, the pain, shame and self loathing that one feels when one is ‘hiding’ a certain part of one’s body.
