Does the South Beach Diet Plan Work?

Fat loss is the real term for weight loss, after all, weight loss can consist of muscle loss, which we do not want, it is the fat in our bodies, the excess fat which we do not want. The following is some information about the “southbeach” diet, and some recommendations on some healthy options for one to take.

Some companies have the resources to advertise all over the world about their books of the diet, therefore gaining many unfortunate subscribers to a way of thinking which is incorrect and can not only harm their bodies but reduce their chances of losing FAT in the future!

Fat loss will NOT occur in low ‘carb’ diets, you may drop a few pounds at the start of this diet, which encourages people to continue, but in the long term this can affect the health of your kidneys. We all know that the best way to LOSE FAT, and unwanted extra pounds is to eat regularly and healthy foods from all of the food groups each day. We also all know that these ‘fad diets’ do NOT work. Restricting something as essential as carbs, let alone complex carbs which our bodies crave for peak performance , is not a good idea, and can not only lead to hunger pangs but cravings too.

Carbohydrates, or lack of them on a FAT LOSS diet is short sighted as there are so very many complicated types of carbs, and many of these are essential to our well being, yet on the South Beach Diet , the author just clumps all carbs together as if they are all made out of the same thing !! Carbohydrates are not created equal – each of them is very different and complex, and they all affect our glycemic index differently, and the South Beach diet goes into complicated depth of inordinate length about the importance of the glycemic index, when half the readers have no idea what he is talking about. No one wants to be on a diet that they don’t understand !! Simply said, some foods cause the blood sugar to rise quicker than other foods, but are we supposed to look at a food and have this fact to worry about as well as calories, or will this put on FAT? Don’t we have enough to ‘worry’ about each day without worrying about this as well!? It is so complicated that one even has to know facts like how ripe is the fruit they are about to eat is, for example an unripe banana has a low glycemic index of 43 yet an over ripe banana has a high GI of 74, oranges are the same as are many hundreds of foods. I certainly do not want to have to count the G.I. factors of foods each day !

FAT LOSS on the South Beach Diet will be extremely hard to achieve for another reason. The ‘first phase’ of this diet is so very restricted that it will take so much willpower just to get through the FOUR weeks it recommends – four long weeks on so little food is a bad idea, and can lead to dizziness, low blood sugar and a myriad of health concerns. This fact alone should caution people against this diet. To then increase food by quite an amount after weeks of heavy restriction will only make the pounds reappear fast, and as everyone knows a yo yo diet is bad for one’s heart.

On this bad FAT LOSS diet there is another dangerous effect which happens and many have labelled it “carb – crash phase”, and this is when the body seems to ‘crash’ as it is not getting what it needs !! (whereas OUR FAT LOSS eating plan below gives the body everything it needs to be at peak performance!) When this ‘crash’ happens one feels weak, heart palpitations can occur, nausea, a feeling of weakness and irritability will overtake one, and even results in depression. The carb cravings are so uncomfortable that we tend to sabotage ourselves and there is a low success rate on the South Beach Diet.

This South Beach FAT LOSS diet does NOT have the structure the general person wanting to LOSE FAT has. It leaves too much to the individual – and if we all knew how to lose FAT ourselves why buy the expensive diet book, or pay online only to be left on our own making our own choices – after all, didn’t our already bad choices get us into this position of overweight in the first place? I need more structure in a diet which our eating plan below gives.

Inconsistencies in the South Beach Diet recur over and over , which not only do I find irritating but unprofessional . In ‘Phase three’ it allows one ot have more saturated fat –why? It does not explain so we are left in confusion! In the recipes which we here at Happypappy have tested , so many of the foods have such a high glycemic index, which goes against everything it was telling us, so it is just all too confusing and not clear at all.

Fat loss – your fat loss is what WE CARE about. We do not recommend the South Beach Diet if you are serious about LOSING FAT and LOSING WEIGHT .
