			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What is the best way to lose fat?  To actually burn fat one has to do specific exercises.  The exercises will be pointless if a healthy diet is not followed.  (See the end of the article for the best fat loss diet suggestion)</p>
<p>To burn fat, one needs to do physical activity, to get the heart rate working fast (cardio) and to also speed up the metabolism.  A diet which promotes keeping the metabolism working fast is suggested, so one needs to find a diet which allows you to eat quite a few times per day, therefore never giving the metabolism a chance to slow down.</p>

<p>Once you are eating healthily, with your metabolism working efficiently,</p>
<p>it is time to start your cardio and start burning fat (aerobic exercises burn fat an speed up the metabolism) :</p>
<ul>
<li>If you can get to a gym, use the following equipment:- elliptical , bike, treadmill or rowing machines.  You do not have to buy expensive equipment as all gyms have them. There are always gym instructors on hand to show you how to use the equipment.</li>
<li>If you prefer not to go to a gym, do your own cardio exercises by</li>
</ul>
<p>swimming lengths, running, jogging or rowing.</p>

<li>Stand in your living room and do froggy jumps. Put your hands behind your head, bend your knees and jump as high as you can.</li>
<li>Put music on and dance and jump non stop for 30 minutes at least.</li>
<li>Run on the spot for 30 minutes</li>

You can be any age to start jogging.  Along with a balanced and healthy eating plan, one must take up an exercise which will get the heart rate pumping, in order to lose those calories.  Don’t forget that you need to burn more calories than you consume, so a healthy diet is imperative.  A diet providing too few calories though will slow down your metabolism, so you do need to be eating healthy foods three times a day. Swimming, running, rowing and jumping fall into the cardiovascular section of activity, and are the best ways to burn fat.  Make sure before you begin a jogging program that you can walk non stop easily for twenty minutes.  Then slowly start to jog in between your walking, and only do what is comfortable at first.  The aim is to slowly get your joints, muscles and connective tissues accustomed to the higher intensity of jogging.</p>
<p><span id="more-385"></span></p>
<p>Jogging is one of the best exercises to burn fat as it is easy to do, you don’t require a car to get you somewhere to do it, and you don’t need any expensive equipment.  You just need to put on some comfortable clothes, open your front door and off you go!  It is also helpful to keep a journal or training log, not only of your eating habits, but how far you can run the first day, and write down how you felt, and how far you are running by the next week.  You will be amazed at how much easier it gets week by week.  Start slowly and run for 15 minutes and build up until you are jogging at least five times per week for a minimum of thirty minutes per day, if you are serious about burning fat. The training log will keep you motivated as you will see your improvement.</p>
<p>When jogging you need to breathe in oxygen through your nose and mouth, your muscles need a lot of oxygen to run and your nose alone cannot inhale enough.  Try and also breathe deeply while jogging.  Try to take three jogging steps while inhaling and four when exhaling.  Try running with a friend, it helps as you will motivate each other.  Make sure you are breathing correctly when you run with a friend by doing the ‘talk test”, you should be able to talk easily and be able to say a full sentence without gasping for air.</p>

<p>Together with a healthy eating plan, there are definitely certain exercises which can flatten the tummy.  Many people have fat covering their abs, and one has to specifically concentrate on this area of our body to get rid of the fat or the ‘tummy rolls’.  Cardio exercises are the best way to go.  Crunches can add definition (which you will get anyway), but you also need to burn the fat with diet and cycling, running or swimming.<span id="more-381"></span></p>
<p>So before starting to exercise to flatten your tummy, choose a healthy eating plan, or you will be wasting your time.  The healthy successful ones are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Fat Loss 4 Idiots (Extremely healthy meals. Three meals per day plus snacks. Changes your pattern of eating, so that your metabolism works so fast that the fat is burned off very quickly, and in some case too quickly)</li>
<li>Weight Watchers. (Good if you can join a group, healthy meals. You do have to count points an plan meals)</li>
<li>The Atkins Diet (Very low carbohydrate. Fat is allowed to be consumed.  Very little natural sugar in fruits allowed)</li>
</ul>
<p>Once you are eating healthily, and are on a regular exercise plan, you can concentrate on your tummy.</p>
<p>Follow this plan for the perfect flat tummy (Choose which exercises you want to do each day, and chop and change.  Start slowly and build up to the amount of times listed below):</p>
<ul>
<li>Lift Your Head – Find a comfortable flat area preferably on a soft carpet or mat.  Lie on your back with your arms at your sides. With your feet flat on the floor, bend your knees.  Relax your abdomen, and then as you lift your head, inhale deeply, and as your head goes back down, exhale slowly.</li>
<li>Crunches for the Abdomen – Lie on your back on the floor.  Across your chest, place your hands. Lift your shoulder blades off the floor while flexing your abs. Your legs are flat on the floor. Repeat this 25 times.</li>
<li>For those ugly ‘love handles’ these oblique crunches will get rid of them. Put your hands behind your head, and lie on your back.  Over your right knee place your left foot.   Keeping your lower back on the floor, lift your shoulder blades off the floor, curl the upper part of your body diagonally across your body towards the left knee.  Contract your abs as hard as you can. Repeat 16 times before changing sides.</li>
<li>The Long Arm Crunch – This exercise strengthens the internal obliques, the external obliques, and the rectus abdominus.  Lie on your back with your arms outstretched above you, next to your ears, and clasp your hands.  With your feet flat on the floor, bend your knees.  Contract your abs as you lift your shoulder blades off the floor. Lower your shoulder blades and repeat 12 times.</li>
<li>Act Like Superman! – Lie face down on the floor.  Raise your left leg and your right arm as far as you can without it hurting. Hold that position for 5 seconds and relax before switching arm and leg.</li>
<li>Exercise Ball Crunch – With your feet on the floor, sit on the ball. Let the ball roll slowly back until your body and thighs are parallel to the floor. Raise your body 45 degrees and tighten your abs.</li>
<li>Oblique muscle workout – Do the same as above but move your feet closer together.</li>
</ul>
<p>A few little helpful tips:</p>
<ul>
<li>Instead of full cream milk, drink skimmed milk instead to prevent gas   and bloating. All dairy products can have this effect.</li>
<li>Water helps your digestion. Drink on average, eight full glasses of water per day. It also helps to curb your appetite.</li>
<li>Eat more meals a day (they can be small) but eating more often will kick start your metabolism (or as mentioned above, the FatLoss4Idiots diet keeps your metabolism working overtime).</li>
<li>Consistency is the key- keep at your ab exercises, and never give up!</li>
</ul>

<p>There is no better feeling that the sun shining down on one’s body, and relaxing and moving around in a swimming pool.  Not only is it a wonderful feeling, but add some exercise and you have the perfectly enjoyable sport!  There is no getting hot and sweaty here!!   <span id="more-203"></span>Summer is the perfect time to enjoy an outdoor pool, but there are also heated indoor pools for the colder months, and once you start swimming, it is a sport you can do for your whole lifetime.</p>
<p>Swimming is one of the few sports which is also recreational, we all grow up swimming in the summer, whether it be in crystal clear lakes, at a friend’s pool, or in the sea, and what fun it is to swim with friends and splash about or play games in the pool.  Most of us, while growing up, never realise how swimming protects our heart and lungs and strengthens them.  Many athletes  who either  pound the pavements, track or tennis courts, get injured and swimming is the only form of exercise where there is no impact at all on their bodies.  It can also be used as a cross training exercise.  It is ideal for anyone who can’t put weight on their knees or legs.</p>
<p>Swimming is a great way to help lose those extra pounds, (along with a healthy diet obviously), and any moving around in the water, is helpful as one is pushing against the weight of the water.  We all can’t swim a fast 100 laps in one hour, but swimming at a fast rate will burn 900 calories per hour, so even if we swim laps at our own pace, we shall be burning those unwanted calories.</p>
<p>Try these swimming exercises in the water to lose weight:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lie on your tummy and hold the edge of the pool with your hands, and kick your legs as fast as you can, create as much splash as you can!  Try and do this for as long as you can, then rest your legs and repeat.</li>
<li>Do the same but this time with your back to the wall and holding on to the edge of the pool with your arms.</li>
<li>Swim five laps using the breaststroke, kicking as hard as you can with your legs and pulling the water back with all the strength of your arms.</li>
<li>Hold a board in your hands with your arms stretched out in front of you and kick across the pool as hard and fast as you can with your feet.  This is different to holding on to the wall as you can practise your breathing as you hold the board.</li>
<li>‘Run’ in the water across the width of the shallow part of the pool.  The weight of the water will make it seem hard to run, which is why it is so good for you!</li>
<li>Don’t forget water aerobics – stand with legs apart, and move your arms through the water, pushing against the weight of the water all the time.</li>
<li>Bend your knees, and then stand up straight and repeat ten times.</li>
</ul>
<p>Swimming training, either doing this at school or at a club while growing up, will have benefited you for life.  If you are still able to swim fast across a pool, it will greatly increase and improve your heart rate and lung capacity.</p>
<p>Swimming will improve your muscle capacity, builds up one’s endurance, strengthens lungs and improves cardio-vascular fitness.</p>
<p>For runners, swimming can be used as a good warm up before a race or practise session, and also a good cool down after the race (excuse the pun !) but swimming after a track meet or race can help move the blood through your muscles and help them recover.</p>
<p>Swimming benefits are innumerable.
