Jogging is a great way to burn fat and lose weight. You can be any age to start jogging. Along with a balanced and healthy eating plan, one must take up an exercise which will get the heart rate pumping, in order to lose those calories. Don’t forget that you need to burn more calories than you consume, so a healthy diet is imperative. A diet providing too few calories though will slow down your metabolism, so you do need to be eating healthy foods three times a day. Swimming, running, rowing and jumping fall into the cardiovascular section of activity, and are the best ways to burn fat. Make sure before you begin a jogging program that you can walk non stop easily for twenty minutes. Then slowly start to jog in between your walking, and only do what is comfortable at first. The aim is to slowly get your joints, muscles and connective tissues accustomed to the higher intensity of jogging.
Jogging is one of the best exercises to burn fat as it is easy to do, you don’t require a car to get you somewhere to do it, and you don’t need any expensive equipment. You just need to put on some comfortable clothes, open your front door and off you go! It is also helpful to keep a journal or training log, not only of your eating habits, but how far you can run the first day, and write down how you felt, and how far you are running by the next week. You will be amazed at how much easier it gets week by week. Start slowly and run for 15 minutes and build up until you are jogging at least five times per week for a minimum of thirty minutes per day, if you are serious about burning fat. The training log will keep you motivated as you will see your improvement.
When jogging you need to breathe in oxygen through your nose and mouth, your muscles need a lot of oxygen to run and your nose alone cannot inhale enough. Try and also breathe deeply while jogging. Try to take three jogging steps while inhaling and four when exhaling. Try running with a friend, it helps as you will motivate each other. Make sure you are breathing correctly when you run with a friend by doing the ‘talk test”, you should be able to talk easily and be able to say a full sentence without gasping for air.
There are so many benefits of jogging, and burning fat is the best one. Women who jog have slimmer waists, hips and legs, and also jogging also lowers cholesterol levels considerably. Apart from burning fat through jogging, there is also a way to increase your metabolic rate. When you are comfortably jogging thirty minutes a day, try fitting in a quick sprint for 20 seconds, this will really increase your metabolic rate. Your metabolism has to be working efficiently to burn fat and lose weight, so make sure you find a diet plan which specifically burns fat and speeds up your metabolism.
